Terms of Service

Effective Date: July 3, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern all use of ChrisPrael.com and all services provided by Chris Prael (“I,” “me,” or “my”), including private chef services, catering, culinary experiences, design services, and related offerings.

By accessing or using this website, submitting a booking request, placing an order, making a payment, or receiving services, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using this website and services immediately.

SERVICES

Chris Prael provides private chef and culinary services, including but not limited to:

  • In-home private dining experiences

  • Tasting menus and coursed dinners

  • Sushi and omakase experiences

  • Catering and event services

  • Meal preparation services

All services are customized based on client requests, availability, and agreed scope of work.

BOOKING & CONFIRMATION

A booking is not confirmed until:

  • A deposit has been received (where applicable), and

  • The date and scope of service have been accepted in writing or via confirmation

Availability is not guaranteed until confirmed.

PAYMENT TERMS

Private Chef Services

  • A deposit is required to secure a booking

  • The remaining balance is due no later than the day of service, unless otherwise agreed in writing

  • Pricing is based on guest count, menu selection, ingredient costs, travel, and service complexity

  • Final pricing is confirmed prior to the event

Other Services (if applicable)

  • Payment terms will be clearly communicated prior to purchase or engagement

  • Work may not begin until required payment is received

CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellations must be submitted in writing.

  • Deposits are non-refundable, as they reserve the date and cover planning and preparation

  • Cancellations made after ingredient purchasing or preparation has begun may be subject to additional charges up to the full service amount

  • Rescheduling is subject to availability and may require a new deposit if the original date cannot be transferred

REFUND POLICY

Due to the custom nature of all services:

  • All sales are generally final

  • Refunds are not issued once work, preparation, or service has begun

  • Refunds may only be issued if a service cannot be fulfilled as agreed due to circumstances on my end

  • Approved refunds (if any) are issued to the original payment method

CLIENT RESPONSIBILITY

Clients agree to provide accurate and complete information for all bookings and orders.

For private chef services, clients are responsible for:

  • Providing a safe, functional kitchen or event space

  • Ensuring access to basic utilities (unless otherwise agreed)

  • Disclosing all allergies, dietary restrictions, and food sensitivities in advance

For all services, clients are responsible for reviewing and confirming all details before approval or execution.

I am not responsible for issues resulting from incorrect, incomplete, or outdated information provided by the client.

FOOD SAFETY & ALLERGIES

All food is prepared using standard food safety practices.

Clients are fully responsible for disclosing all allergies, dietary restrictions, and medical food sensitivities prior to service.

While reasonable care is taken, no kitchen environment can be guaranteed to be free from cross-contact or allergens.

Chris Prael is not liable for any allergic reactions, illness, or health issues resulting from:

  • Undisclosed or incomplete allergy information

  • Cross-contact with allergens in shared environments or supply chains

  • Improper handling or storage after food has been served

TURNAROUND TIME & SERVICE TIMING

Service timing and preparation schedules vary depending on the scope of the event or order.

Delays may occur due to:

  • Ingredient availability

  • Event size or complexity

  • External supplier or logistical factors

All timing estimates are provided in good faith but are not guaranteed unless explicitly stated.

APPROVALS & REVISIONS (IF APPLICABLE)

For any applicable creative or design-based services:

  • Clients are responsible for final review and approval before completion or production

  • Once approved, the client assumes responsibility for all content accuracy

  • Changes requested after approval may incur additional fees

  • Errors approved by the client are not eligible for free correction or rework

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

Unless otherwise agreed in writing:

  • All original concepts, menus, branding, recipes, designs, and content created by Chris Prael remain the intellectual property of Chris Prael

  • Clients retain ownership of any materials they personally provide

  • Submitted materials may only be used for fulfillment of the agreed service

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Chris Prael is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including but not limited to:

  • Personal injury or allergic reaction

  • Property issues at the client’s location

  • Loss of profits or business interruption

  • Delays caused by third parties

  • Errors resulting from client-approved information

Total liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific service or product.

FORCE MAJEURE

Chris Prael is not responsible for delays or failure to perform due to events outside reasonable control, including but not limited to:

  • Illness or medical emergencies

  • Natural disasters

  • Power outages

  • Transportation or supply disruptions

  • Government restrictions

  • Any other unforeseen circumstances

Services may be rescheduled, adjusted, or refunded at discretion depending on circumstances.

DISPUTES & CHARGEBACKS

Clients agree to contact Chris Prael directly before initiating any chargeback or payment dispute.

Unresolved disputes may be documented and submitted to payment processors.

Fraudulent or unauthorized chargebacks may result in termination of services and restriction from future bookings.

WEBSITE USE

By using ChrisPrael.com, you agree to use the website lawfully and not engage in any activity that may harm, disrupt, or misuse the service or platform.

GOVERNING LAW

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States.

Any disputes will be handled under California jurisdiction.

CHANGES TO TERMS

These Terms may be updated at any time.

Changes take effect immediately upon posting to ChrisPrael.com. Continued use of the website or services constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
