Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern all use of ChrisPrael.com and all services provided by Chris Prael (“I,” “me,” or “my”), including private chef services, catering, print shop products, digital design services, and related offerings.

By accessing or using this website, submitting a booking request, placing an order, purchasing products, or completing payment, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using this website and services immediately.

SERVICES

Chris Prael provides private chef services and creative print/design services.

Private chef services include in-home dining experiences, coursed tasting menus, sushi nights, omakase experiences, dinner parties, catering, and personal chef meal preparation.

Print and design services include custom design work, templates, printed materials, and digital file delivery, with fulfillment via pickup, shipping, or local drop-off depending on the order.

All services are customized based on client requests, availability, and scope of work.

PRIVATE CHEF BOOKING & PAYMENT TERMS

A booking is only confirmed once a 50% non-refundable deposit has been received and the event date has been accepted.

The deposit secures your date and covers planning, consultation, menu development, scheduling, and initial ingredient sourcing.

The remaining 50% balance is due no later than the day of service unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Pricing is based on guest count, menu complexity, ingredient sourcing, travel distance, and special requests. Final pricing will be confirmed prior to the event.

PRINT SHOP & DESIGN PAYMENT TERMS

All print shop orders, templates, and design services require 100% payment upfront before any work begins.

No design, production, or fulfillment will begin until full payment has been received.

TURNAROUND TIME & DELIVERY

Standard turnaround time is 24–72 hours, depending on order size and complexity.

Delivery options include pickup, shipping, or local drop-off when available.

Shipping times are handled by third-party carriers and are not guaranteed.

Turnaround times may vary due to workload, holidays, or supply availability.

REVISIONS & APPROVALS

Basic revisions are included for eligible design services unless otherwise stated.

Clients are responsible for carefully reviewing and approving all proofs before production begins.

Once a design is approved, the client assumes full responsibility for all spelling, grammar, layout, and content accuracy.

Any changes after approval may result in additional charges. Reprints required due to approved errors are billed at full cost.

CANCELLATION & RESCHEDULING (PRIVATE CHEF SERVICES)

The 50% deposit is non-refundable under all circumstances due to time reserved, planning, and ingredient commitments.

If cancellation occurs after preparation or purchasing has begun, additional costs may apply.

Rescheduling is subject to availability and may require a new deposit if the original date cannot be transferred.

REFUNDS

Due to the custom nature of all services and products, all sales are generally final.

Refunds are not issued once work has begun.

Issues must be reported immediately upon receipt of a product or completion of service.

If an error is clearly caused by production or fulfillment, it may be corrected or replaced at my discretion.

CLIENT RESPONSIBILITY

Clients are responsible for providing accurate information for all orders and bookings.

For private chef services, clients must ensure a safe and functional kitchen environment and disclose all allergies and dietary restrictions before service.

For print and design services, clients are responsible for final proofreading and approval before production.

I am not responsible for issues resulting from incorrect or incomplete client-provided information.

FOOD SAFETY & ALLERGIES

All food is prepared using standard food safety and sanitation practices.

Clients are fully responsible for disclosing allergies and dietary restrictions prior to service.

I am not liable for allergic reactions or health issues resulting from undisclosed or miscommunicated information.

Once food has been served, I am not responsible for storage, handling, or consumption.

FILES & INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

Clients confirm they own or have rights to any files submitted for use.

By submitting files, clients grant permission to use them solely for order fulfillment and related revisions.

I reserve the right to refuse any content that violates copyright law or applicable regulations.

All original designs, branding, menus, and website content created by Chris Prael remain my intellectual property unless otherwise agreed in writing.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the maximum extent permitted by law, I am not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business interruption.

I am not responsible for:

  • Allergic reactions due to undisclosed ingredients

  • Issues occurring in the client’s home or event space

  • Shipping delays or carrier errors

  • Errors in client-approved designs

  • Events outside of reasonable control

Total liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific service or product.

FORCE MAJEURE

I am not responsible for delays or failure to perform due to events outside of reasonable control, including illness, emergencies, natural disasters, supply shortages, power outages, transportation issues, or other unforeseen circumstances.

Services may be rescheduled or refunded at my discretion depending on the situation.

WEBSITE USE & AGREEMENT

By using this website, you agree that you have read and accepted these Terms.

Continued use of the website, submission of forms, booking requests, or purchases constitutes binding agreement to these Terms.

DISPUTES & CHARGEBACKS

Clients agree to contact me directly to resolve any issues before initiating a chargeback.

Fraudulent or unauthorized chargebacks may result in termination of service and submission of documentation to payment processors.

GOVERNING LAW

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.

Any disputes shall be handled under California jurisdiction.

UPDATES TO TERMS

These Terms may be updated at any time.

Changes become effective immediately upon posting to ChrisPrael.com. Continued use of the website or services constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.
